The 3 things to consider before buying an electronic cigarette

The electronic cigarette is today the most effective substitute for quitting smoking.

Today there are many different models of e-cigarettes, here are the three main things to consider before buying an electronic cigarette. It is important to determine which model best suits your needs.

TIP: To buy equipment, we advise you to go to the store, the advice provided is optimal and the after-sales service will be more efficient in the event of problems, especially for a beginner!

How many cigarettes do you smoke per day?

This element will determine the battery capacity you will need but also the nicotine level with which you will start vaping. The nicotine levels are given as an indication, the best thing being to get the right advice in-store according to your specific case.

  • Less than 10 cigarettes per day: moderate smoker

Type of material: You surely need an electronic cigarette in a small format, which will provide you with efficient and simple use. Models of the PODS and TUBES or BOX type with small batteries without settings will suit you.

Nicotine level: An e-liquid with 6mg/ml of nicotine should be sufficient.

TIP: In case of significant lack, if you are tempted to relight a cigarette, you can keep with you an e-liquid with a higher nicotine dosage (11 or 12mg/ml), which will help you to pass the urge to smoke.

  • From 10 to 20 cigarettes per day: sustained smoker

Type of material: You need a high-performance electronic cigarette, with significant autonomy. Models of the TUBES or BOX type will suit you. In this case, we only recommend PODS as a backup solution.

Nicotine level: An e-liquid between 9 and 11 mg/ml of nicotine is recommended.

TIP: In case of significant lack, if you are tempted to relight a cigarette, you can keep with you an e-liquid with a higher dosage of nicotine (12 or 15 mg/ml), which will help you to pass the urge to smoke.

  • More than 20 cigarettes per day: heavy smoker

Type of material: You need an electronic cigarette with long battery life. The BOX + atomizer type models will suit you. In this case, we only recommend PODS and TUBES as a backup solution.

Nicotine level: An e-liquid with at least 11 mg/ml of nicotine is recommended.

TIP: In case of significant lack, if you are tempted to relight a cigarette, you can keep with you an e-liquid with a higher nicotine dosage (15mg/ml), which will help you to pass the urge to smoke.

Direct or indirect inhalation?

it is recommended that a beginner start vaping with indirect inhaling, which comes closest to the “cigarette” experience and will allow you to have an effective substitute for cigarettes. In indirect inhalation, the vapour stays in the mouth for a while, then in the lungs, as with a cigarette. In direct inhalation, the vapour will go directly into the lungs, we will recommend this use to advanced vapers.

What type of e-liquid?

An e-liquid is composed of a base (most often a mixture of VG (vegetable glycerin) and PG (propylene glycol)), nicotine and aromas. The base allows the vaporization, and the nicotine makes it possible to compensate for the lack linked to tobacco and therefore the progressive smoking cessation, while the aroma makes it possible to find a flavour during inhalation.

Which base to choose: to begin with, we recommend choosing e-liquids with 50/50 PG/VG bases, which will allow them to be used on any type of material. We also recommend 100% vegetable bases, as with Naturo Vape, indeed, many e-liquids are composed of chemical PGs which can be irritating and less ecological!

Which flavour to choose: I will recommend starting with flavours that are closest to your cigarettes: blond tobacco, dark tobacco, cigarillos, and cigars, all these flavours have been faithfully reproduced in e-liquids to optimize your chances of finding an effective tobacco substitute. The priority for quitting smoking is to have an experience that comes closest to your habits.
